Aubrey or Alberic's father was Tancred of Hauteville and his mother was Fredistina or Fredesende of Normandy. His maternal grandparents were Richard I of Normandy and Unknown Mistress4. He had seven brothers and a sister, named Roger I, Robert I Guiscard, Humbert (Hubert), Roger, Tancred, William, Mauger and Fressenda. He had five half-brothers named Onfroi, William "Iron-Arm", Drogo, Godfrey and Serlo.-
