General Notes
According to the book Henry Duke, Counselor by Walter Garland Duke, pg. 294: " sir John Seymour, the eldest of the four sons mentioned above, was knighted in the field for his signal service in battle against the Cornish rebels at Blackheath. He was Sheriff of Wilts in the 23rd year of Henry VII. In 1513 he had the honor of Knight Baronet conferred for gallantry at the siege of Tournay."
