Aelfgifu is Cnut's first wife and it is said that he did not divorce her when he married Emma.
Aelfgifu was ousted from Norway by Magnus The Good by 1035.
They had two sons named Harold and Swein of.

The marriage between Cnut and Elgiva evidently did not end when Cnut made Emma his second wife.
