George Leslie 
George was born in Scotland. George's father was William Leslie and his mother was Margaret Janet Balfour. His paternal grandparents were Andrew Leslie and Marjory of Orkney; his maternal grandparents were Michael (of Munquhanny and Strathor) Balfour and Janet Ogilvy. He had two brothers named James and John (of Parkhill). He died on November 28th, 1558 in Dieppe, France.General Notes
George, 4th Earl of Rothes, an Extraor Ld of Session, and Sheriff of Fife, Ambassador to the Court of Denmark 1550. On the attainder of his s, the Master of Rothes, he had a charter of the forfeited lands of Ballinbreich, which he alienated to his third son Andrew. He married 1st, 1517, Margaret, illegitimate daughter of 3rd Lord Crichton, by Margaret, daughter of James III (a union dissolved by divorce 27 Dec, 1520), and had issue. His Lordship married 2nd, Elizabeth (dsp), widow of 4th Lord Glamis, and of the 3rd Earl of Huntly, and daughter of 2nd Lord Gray. He married 3rd , Agnes, widow of the 2nd Lord Fleming, and daughter of Sir John Somerville of Cambusnethan. After the death of his 3rd wife, the Earl ws re-married to his divorced 1st wife, Margaret Crichton. George, Earl of Rothes, married 5th, Margaret Lundy (dsp), widow of 8th Earl of Crawford, and died at Dieppe, 28 November 1558, on his way home from attending as representative of the Scottish estates at the marriage of Queen Mary with the Dauphin. He was succeeded by his 3rd son.
