Alexander De Menteith 
Alexander was born about 1260 in Menteith, Perthshire, Scotland. Alexander's father was Fifth Earl of Menteith (de jure uxoris) and his mother was Mary De Menteith. His paternal grandparents were Walter I Stewart and Beatrix Douglas; his maternal grandfather was Mauritius de Menteith. He had a brother and a sister, named Laird of and Daughter. He died in Menteith, Perthshire, Scotland.General Notes
Alexander Stewart, 6th Earl of Menteith, invaded England with other Scottish Earls in 1296, beseiged Carlisle, was defeated and captured at Dunbar and imprisoned in the Tower of London until he did homage to Edward I. He married Maud and died c1300. - Burke's Peerage
'Alexander', together with his father and brother, entered into a bond with Robert de Brus and others at Turnberry, 20 Sept 1286 (Red Book of menteith II: 219-220)

Evidently the Earl of Menteith who resisted John de Warenne, Earl of Surry at Dunbar, April 1296 (Barrow, p 101; Cowan, p 95)
