Elizabeth was born about 1462 in Castle Croft, Leominster, Herefordshire, England. Elizabeth's father was Richard Croft and her mother was Eleanor Cornwall. Her paternal grandparents were William de Croft and Margaret Walwyn; her maternal grandparents were Edmund Cornewall of Burford and Elizabeth de la Barre. She had four brothers and five sisters, named Richard, Edward, John, Robert Croft of, Anne, Margaret, Alice, Joyce and Sibyll or Jane. She had a half-sister named Elizabeth.General Notes

Mr. Hodgson has Richard "The Younger" Croft, b abt 1451 and Anne Fox b abt 1455 as Elizabeth's parents; he shows Elizabeth's marriage to John Whittington as abt 1501 in Pauntley, Solers, Gloucestershire; and Elizabeth's death in St. Briavels, Gloucestershire, England.
