Helen or Elena of was born about 1208 in Carrick, Argyllshire, Scotland. Helen or Elena of's father was Alan of Galloway and her mother was Helen De L'Isle. Her paternal grandparents were Roland MacDonald and Helena De Morville; her maternal grandparents were Rognvald (Reginald) Sumarlidsaaon and Fonia of Moray. She had a brother and a sister, named Thomas and Daughter. She had four half-sisters named Ellen, FNU, Devorgilla and Christian. She died after November 1245 in England.
