John Briscoe 
John was born about 1612 in Briksheugh, New Biggin, Cumberland, England. John's father was Leonard Brisko and his mother was Mabel Sands. His paternal grandparents were Richard Brisko and Elizabeth Leigh; his maternal grandfather was William Sands. He was an only child. He died in 1699 in St. Mary's Co, Maryland.General Notes
Came to Maryland at the request of Cecilius Calvert (2nd Lord Baltimore).
Dr. John Briscoe married in England, Elizabeth Du Bois of the distinguished Huguenot family of Count du Roussey 1110, Marquis Du Bois, whose descendents fled to England to escape religious persecution. (Jim Carney, Ancestry.com)
