Lydia was born about 1684 in New Kent Co, VA. Lydia's father was James Blackwell and her mother was Lydia Turner. Her paternal grandparents were Robert Blackwell and FNU Croshaw. She had five brothers and three sisters, named Robert, James, William, John, John, Sarah Eudora, Lucie and Mary. She was the fifth oldest of the nine children.-
