Catharina Von was born on January 1st, 1487. Catharina Von's father was Magnus II Von Mecklenburg-Schwerin and her mother was Sophie Von Pommern. Her paternal grandparents were Heinrich II (IV) Von Mecklenburg-Schwerin and Dorothea Von Hohenzollern; her maternal grandparents were Erich II Von Pommern and Sophia Von Pommern. She had two brothers and two sisters, named Henrich V (III) Von, Albrecht VI Von, Sophia Von and Anna Von. She was the second youngest of the five children.
