Kraft III Zu's father was Kraft II Zu Hohenlohe and his mother was Adelheid Mechthild Von Wurttemberg. His paternal grandparents were Kraft I Zu Hohenlohe and Margareta Von Truhendingen; his maternal grandparents were Eberhard I Von Wurttemberg and Irmgard Zahringen. He was an only child.
