His paternal grandfather was Ranulf de Meschines and his paternal grandmother is Maud d'Avranches; his maternal grandfather was Earl Ives Ivo de Taillebois of Anjou and his maternal grandmother is Lucy Beatrice Malet. He had a brother and a sister, named William and Adeliza. He died at the age of 54 on December 16th, 1153 in England. He was buried in St Werburgh, Chester, Cheshire, England.General Notes
