Baron William de Cantilupe III of Abergavenny 
William was born about 1216 in Calne, Wilts, Eng & Aston Cantlow, Warw., Eng. William's father was Lord William Cantilupe II of Tre-Cantlow and his mother is Milicent Gournai. His paternal grandfather was High Steward William de Cantelou and his paternal grandmother is Mecelin Braci; his maternal grandfather was Hugh de Gournay V and his maternal grandmother is Juliane de Dammartin. He had two sisters named Juliana and Agnes. He was the youngest of the three children. He died on September 25th, 1254 in Calstone, Wilts, England. He was buried on September 30th, 1254 in Studley Priory, Warwick, England.General Notes

William in turn was the son of William de Cantelou (Cauntelo), of Calne, Wilts, Lord of Tre-Cantlow (Cantleston), d. 22 Feb 1250/1 at Calne, m. to Melicent de Gurnay, d. 1260, daughter of Hugh V de Gournay and Juliana de Dammartin.
