His paternal grandfather was Prince Boris Michael I of Bulgaria and his paternal grandmother is Marija of Bulgaria; his maternal grandfather was Czar Simeon ("the Great") of Bulgaria and his maternal grandmother is Marija of Bulgaria. He had two brothers named Aaron and Petar. He died in 1014.-
