James Daniel Ramey 
James Daniel was born in 1809 in Pike County, Kentucky. James Daniel's father was William R. Ramey Sr. and his mother was Anna Samlins. His paternal grandparents were Daniel S. Ramey Sr. and Rachel Johnston; his maternal grandmother is Elizabeth Samlins. He was an only child. He died at the age of 83 in 1892. He was buried in Elkhorn City Cemetery, Elkhorn City, Kentucky.General Notes
Daniel was a stone cutter, and was and expert in making millstones. He was also a carpenter, a chairmaker, a logger and a farmer.
