Ermengarde was born in 0795 in Alsace, Lorraine, France. Ermengarde's father was Count Hugh ("le Mefiant") III of Tours & Upper Alsace and her mother was Lady Aba (Bava) de Morvois of Tours. Her paternal grandfather was Count Luitfride d'Alsace II and her paternal grandmother is Hiltrude; her maternal grandparents are Count Girard de Paris I and Princess Rotrou of Austrasia. She had four brothers and two sisters, named Luitfried, Liutfried, Hugh, Hugh, Bertha and Adelheid. She died at the age of 56 on March 20th, 0851. She was buried in Abbaye D'Erstein, Strasbourg, Alsace, France.General Notes
