Aldred was born about 1005 in Northumberland Beyond Tyne, England. Aldred's father was Earl Uchtred of Northumbria and his mother is Ecfrida of Durham. His paternal grandparents are Earl Waltheof I of Northumberland and Elfeda of Northumbria; his maternal grandfather was Bishop Ealdhun of Durham and his maternal grandmother is Kilvert. He had two brothers named Alfred and Arkyl. He died about 1058.General Notes
