Aegina's father is Asopus and her mother is Metope. Her paternal grandparents are Oceanus and Tethys; her maternal grandparents are Ladon and Stymphalis. She has seven sisters named Polyxo, Antiope, Harpinna, Hyrmina, Ismene, Rhodos and Salamis.General Notes
Aegina, daughter of the river god Asopus, was carried off byZeus, who had taken the shape of an eagle, to the island thennamed Oenone, but now called Aegina after her.
They have a son named Aeacus.
