In 1165/66, he rendered account of 100 Pounds for the fine of
his land. In 1167, he gave to the monastery of St. Peter 8
Pounds worth of land (or two-thirds of all the land) in
Ullingwike, thereby con> firming the earlier grant of his
mother, Berta, of one-half of the land (or 6 Pounds yearly), and
the monks gave back to him the land of Craneham which they had
of his father's gift. By his charter, to which his brother,
Walter, was a witness, he gave to the Lepers of St. Sepulchre,
near Glouchester, the right to take wood for fuel in his wood of
Brimsfield, a privelege which the > hospital enjoyed until the
reign of Henry VIII.
