Abel was born on October 4th, 1696 in Cedar Swamp, L.I., Ny. Abel's father was James Weeks and his mother is Elizabeth Carpenter. His paternal grandfather was Samuel Weeks and his paternal grandmother is Elizabeth Ruddox. He was an only child. He died at the age of 85 on September 21st, 1782 in Cedar Swamp, Long Island, Ny.
