Thomas was born about 1422 in of Ragland, Mon, Eng. Thomas' father was William Thomas and his mother was Gwladus Verch Dafydd. His paternal grandfather was Thomas ap Guillem Herbert and his paternal grandmother is Maud Morley; his maternal grandparents are Dafydd "Gam" ap Llewelyn and Gwenllian Verch Gwilym. He had two brothers and two sisters, named Richard, William, Elizabeth and Margred. He is the second oldest of the five children.-
