John Newell 
John was born in January 1647 in Farmington, Hartford, CT.. John's father was Thomas Newell and his mother was Rebecca Olmstead. His paternal grandparents are Thomas Newell and Frances UNKNOWN; his maternal grandfather was Richard Olmstead and his maternal grandmother is Frances Slany. He had three brothers and six sisters, named Thomas, Samuel, Joseph, Rebecca, Mary, Hannah, Hester, Sarah and Martha. He was the third oldest of the ten children. He died at the age of 49 in 1696.-
