Mary was born on August 8th, 1790 in Onchan, Douglas, Isle of Man, England. Mary's father is Thomas Christian and her mother is Eleanor Lace. Her paternal grandparents are Thomas Christian and Ann Cown. She had two brothers and seven sisters, named John, Matthias, Jane, Elizabeth, Ellinor, Ellinor, Margaret, Ann and Catherine. She is the fifth oldest of the ten children.-
