Robert Sylvester was born in 1855 in Arkansas. Robert Sylvester's father was Michael Warren and his mother is Sarah William. His paternal grandparents were Hardin Cody Warren and Lydia Johnson. He has three brothers and four sisters, named William L., John, Major, Eliza Jane M., Rachel, Mary and Margaret. He is the fourth youngest of the eight children. He had three half-brothers and two half-sisters, named James Monroe, Benjamin Harrison, George Washington, Roxanna and Charlotte.-
