John D. was born in 1851 in Taylor Co.,Kentucky. John D.'s father is Younger Richard Underwood and his mother was Elizabeth Milby. His paternal grandparents were Caleb Underwood and Elizabeth Mary Wardrum. He had three brothers and six sisters, named Bluford, Younger Richard ,Jr., William H., Mary Ann, Sarah Ann, Lucinda, Parthena, Rebecca Jane and Nancy E.. He was the third youngest of the ten children. He died at the age of 82 on December 24th, 1933 in Green Co.,Kentucky.-
