Bessie Underwood 
Bessie was born in June 1876 in Greenbrier Co.,West Virginia. Bessie's father was William Fletcher Underwood and her mother is Mary Jane Lewis. Her paternal grandfather is Gabriel Underwood and her paternal grandmother was Bridget Cochran. She had a brother and two sisters, named Golden Clark, Mattie and Cheery. She is the oldest of the four children.-
