Catherine was born in 1923 in LaRue Co.,Kentucky. Catherine's father is Henry Milton Purvis and her mother was Charlotte DeSpain. Her maternal grandparents were William Henry DeSpain and Mary Elizabeth Warren. She has a brother and four sisters, named Milton, Lillie Mae, Mary Edith, Virginia and Ailene.-
