John A. McNutt 
John A. was born in 1725 in Laggan Donelal,Irland. John A.'s father was Alexander McNutt and his mother is Jane Unknown. His paternal grandfather was Alexander McNutt and his paternal grandmother is Sarah Unknown. He had five brothers and two sisters, named William, Alexander, Robert, James, George, Unknown and Jane. He was the fourth oldest of the eight children. He died at the age of 86 in 1811 in Rockbridge Co. Virginia.General Notes
John reported as an ealy settler with Alexander McNutt in Auguksta Co, Va (NGS Quarterly, Vol 25, p. 51 ) "Jo;hn McNett (Johnny, the Scotchman) (another record calls him "Scotch Johnny" ) and his wife Katherine Anderson, about 1750, arrived in the upper valley of James from county Ulster, Ireland . He settled on North River abut 6 miles east of Lexington, where he had grants of land from the goverment." He was one of 122 signers of a petition against religious assessments for support of ministers, presented to the signers of a petition against religious assessments for support of ministers, presented to the General Assembly in House of Delegates , 1784 . Now Rockbridge Virainia. He was Governer and Lt. Governer of Nova Scotia.
