Sarah was born about 1753 in Virginia or Maryland.1  She had nine brothers and three sisters, named James , Sr., Wheeler, John E. , Jr., Nathaniel, Obediah, Stephen C, Tainer, Benjamin, Charles, Nancy, Patience and Polly.

Sarah's first family with Ambrose Daniel

‌Sarah and Ambrose were married in a religious ceremony about 1773 in Halifax,Virginia.1   They had six sons and three daughters, named Willis, Brittan, Jesse, John, Ambrose, Sion, Chloe, Sarah and Mary.
