General Notes
From 1890 through 1907, Green's widow, Rebecca, received a pension based on his service. On several of her annual pension requests, Rebecca stated that Green died during the Confederate "stampeed" (stampede) out of Kentucky.
‌Martha Rebecca and Greenwood Alexander were married in a religious ceremony on January 3rd, 1843 in Wilkes County,NC. They had seven sons and three daughters, named John A., Noah W., Harvey Lonzo, James M., Andrew J., Jonathan J., Joseph M., Hannah, Sorena E. and Mary.
