Nicholas Waln 
Nicholas was born about 1650 in Chapel Croft, Burholm-Bolland/Burholme,West Riding, Yorkshire, England. Nicholas' father was Richard Waln and his mother was Jane Rudd. His paternal grandparents were Nicholas Procter Waln and UNKNOWN Jane; his maternal grandfather was Edward Rudd. He had two brothers and a sister, named Edward, Richard and Anne. He was the oldest of the four children. He died in Northern Liberty/North Liberties,Philadelphia,Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania.General Notes

According to WALN FAMILY INFORMATION at (www. slaidburn.org.uk):
"It is thought that Nicholas Walne was born circa 1650 at Burholme Farm
in the lower Hodder Valley between the village of Dunsop Bridge and
Whitewell. Burholme Farm is now part of the Duchy of Lancaster Estate
and is therefore technically owned by the Queen...According to the old
Slaidburn Court rolls, one of the principal families here in the
seventeenth century bore the name of Walne. Richard Walne passed a
holding at Youlstonwood to his son Nicholas in 1672."
Nicholas Waln and his family arrived in America aboard The "Lamb" of
Liverpool, one of the ships in William Penn's fleet. The "Lamb" loaded at
Liverpool, England June 26-July 17, 1682 and arrived in the Delaware
River on October 22, 1682. Nicholas Waln, Jane Turner Waln and children,
Jane, Richard and Margaret were passengers.
