Johan Jacob Stucki 
Johan Jacob was born on August 30th, 1710 in Breitfurt, Pfalz, Bayern/Berne, Switzerland. Johan Jacob's father was Carolus Stucki and his mother was Maria Barbara. He had two brothers named Johan George and Simon. He was the oldest of the three children. He died at the age of 72 in January 1783 in South Branch of the Potomac (about 12 miles above Moorfield), Hampshire County,Virginia.General Notes

=I10396): "Simon and Jacob, brothers, came to the states in 1737 on the
"Virtuous Grace" to Philadelphia. Their brother John (Johan) came over
in 1735 and he spelled his name Stuckey. They were all refugees from
religious persecution that was going on in Switzerland. They were
protestants, (Amish--Anabaptist--Swiss Bretheren). The name is spelled
Stucki in Switzerland. They moved into the Palatinate region of Germany
where they were safe from persecution and spoke the same language. From
there, they emigrated to the Colonies. Our line settled first in
Lancaster Co., Pa. (Which is Pennsylvania Dutch to this day.) Then they
moved on into what is today West Virginia (Grant and Hardy Counties.)
They settled on a plantation owned by Lord Fairfax of England. He owned
nearly 1,000,000 acres and rented parcels along the South Branch of the
Potomac River. All of those early related families, Shaver, Reger,
Shobe, Hire, Armentrout, Bush, Powers, Peterson, Hagler, Wise,
intermarried with each other. Abraham Stookey fought in the
Revolutionary War, 1776..."

Johan Jacob and Magdaline were married in a religious ceremony in 1740 in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. They had three sons and three daughters, named Jacob, Abraham, Michael, Elizabeth, Margaret and Sarah Susanna.

Abraham Stookey
Abraham was born in 1742 in Hampshire County, Virginia or Hagerstown, Maryland. He died at the age of 60 in 1802 in Hardy County, West Virginia (now Grant County).
Michael Stooky
Michael was born about 1744 in Virginia. He died in 1783 in South Branch of the Potomac River, Virginia (now West Virginia).
Margaret Stooky
Margaret was born in 1747. She died at the age of 69 on June 1st, 1816 in Ross County, Ohio.
