Dewey Shaffer 
Dewey was born in 1901 in Roane County, West Virginia. Dewey's father was Elias A. Shaver and his mother was Laura Belle Thomas. His paternal grandparents were George W. Shaver and Susannah E. Hughes. He had five brothers and three sisters, named Sherman Harold, Otis, Charles, Doy, Harley, Roxy, Susan and Ada. He was the second youngest of the nine children. He had two half-brothers and a half-sister, named Dale W., George Washington and Rosa M.. He died at the age of 32 in 1933 in Roane County, West Virginia. He was buried in Mt. Moriah Cemetery, Ambler Ridge, Roane County, West Virginia.-
