Jon Hansson was born about 1654 in Bjornsgard i Dovre, Gudbrandsdalen, Norway.  Jon Hansson's father was Hans Bjornsgard i Dovre.  He was an only child.  He died about 1702.

‌Jon Hansson and Marit Hansdatter Engelsgard i were married in a religious ceremony before 1685.  They had two sons and two daughters, named Knut Jonson, Hans Jonson, Guri Jonsdatter and Anne Jonsdatter.
