Jacob was born about 1810 in Randolph County, Virginia. Jacob's father was Francis Riffle and his mother was Elizabeth Mace. His paternal grandparents were Jacob Riffle and UNKNOWN Dorothy; his maternal grandfather was John Mace. He had three brothers and two sisters, named Henry, John L., Solomon, Mary Ann and Lucinda. He had five half-brothers and two half-sisters, named Jefferson Conrad, Benjamin, Barbary, Charles Caleb, Peyton, Lucinda and Barbara. He died after 1843.General Notes
