John was born on March 27th, 1686 in Simsbury, Hartford County, Connecticut. John's father was Josiah Owen and his mother was Mary Osborn. His paternal grandparents were John Owen and Rebecca Wade; his maternal grandparents were John Osborn and Anne Oldage. He had two brothers and four sisters, named Josiah, Issac, Abigail, Elizabeth, Mary and Esther. He had a half-sister named Rachel. He died after 1718 in Simsbury, Hartford County, Connecticut.-
