John Jr. McDowell 
John Jr. was born about 1799 in Pennsylvania. John Jr.'s father was John McDowell and his mother was Catherine Hayes. His paternal grandfather was John McDowell. He had two brothers and six sisters, named Samuel, James M., Mary, Anna, Jane, Eliza, Margaret and Matilda. He died after 1850 in Pike County, Ohio.
They had three sons and four daughters, named Hiram, William A., James H., Louisa, Harriett, Mariah and Mary J..
