According to the book, SOUTHERN NEW YORK (reported by Martha Sheldon
Hutchins on page 15 of her book, ANCESTORS AND PROGENY OF HIRAM FISK(E)
AND DIANTHA RUSSELL FISK(E): "Lord Symond Fiske, grandson of Daniel
Fisc, was lord of the manor of Standohaugh, parish of Laxfield, county of
Suffolk, England, and lived in the reign of Henry IV and VI.
(1399-1422). He married Susannah Smyth, and after her death he had wife,
Katherine Simon. (Symond) Fiske, of Laxfield, will dated December 22,
1463, proved at Norwich, February 26, 1464, died in February, 1464. He
was survived by five children: Willi, mentioned below; Jeffrey, John,
Edmund and Margaret. William, eldest son of Symond (Simon) Fiske, born
at Standhaugh, county of Suffolk, England, married Joann Lynn, of
Norfolk..."
He and his father were mentioned in Charters of 1421 and 1435 which
granted Simon land in Studhaugh belonging to William Dowsing, and further
land in Laxfield belonging to William Seman of Norwich. His will, dated
Dec. 22,1463, bequeathes 40s to each of his sons William, Jeffrey, Joh,
and Edmund and mentions daughter Margaret Dowsing.
Some sources list his death on 22 Dec 1463 and burial in unknown Laxfield
Church.
