Louis II the German of the East was born in Aquitaine, France.  Louis II the German of the East's father was Louis I the Fair the Pious Aquitaine of France and his mother was Irmengard of Hesbain.  His paternal grandparents were UNKNOWN Charlemagne and Hildegard de Vinzgau; his maternal grandfather is Ingram of Hasbania. He had two brothers and two sisters, named Lothar I of, Pepin I of, Adelaide of and Hildegard of. He had two half-brothers and two half-sisters, named Charles II the Bald of, Arnulf of, Gisela and Alpaid of.  He died in Frankfort, Brandenburg, Germany.
