Catherine was born on March 8th, 1801 in Johnstown, Cambria County, Pennsylvania. Catherine's father was John Peter Folk and her mother was UNKNOWN Catherine. Her paternal grandparents were George Folk and UNKNOWN Elizabeth. She had six brothers and four sisters, named John, Peter, Samuel, Joseph, Sarah, Henry, Mary, Elizabeth, Susannah and Ann. She is the fourth oldest of the eleven children.-
