Velarius S. J. was born on September 19th, 1863 in Pennsylvania. Velarius S. J.'s father was Solomon Folk and his mother was Elizabeth Boyer. His paternal grandparents were Peter Folk and Elizabeth Schober. He had eight brothers and two sisters, named Carl William, Charles, Jefferson, Lanier, Carolus Judicus, Edwin, Howard Wilson, Franklin, Susanna Elisabeth and Agnes. He was the sixth oldest of the eleven children. He died at the age of 69 on December 26th, 1932.General Notes
