Amos A. was born on August 26th, 1858 in Maquon, Knox County, Illinois. Amos A.'s father was Allen E. Evilsizer and his mother was Susan Osborne. His paternal grandparents were Henry Evilsizer and Mary Jane Patterson. He had three brothers and three sisters, named Henry Allen, John, Perry, Martha, Blanche and Hannah Rosetta.
