Joel Clark 
Joel was born in Simsbury, Hartford County, Connecticut. Joel's father was Samuel Jr. Clarke and his mother was Abigail Owen. His paternal grandfather is Samuel Clark; his maternal grandparents were Josiah Owen and Mary Osborn. He had two brothers and three sisters, named Samuel, David, Abigail, Hannah and Ann. He died in 1777.-
