Lincoln Charles was born on May 30th, 1862 in Gridley, McLean County, Illinois. Lincoln Charles' father was Leonard Breese and his mother was Hannah Flanders. He had four brothers and a sister, named Ames C., William H., Charles, Leonard Jr. and Catherine. He was the third youngest of the six children.
