Alexander was born about 1270 in Buchan, Aberdeenshire, Scotland. Alexander's father is Alexander Comyn and his mother was Elizabeth De Quincy. His paternal grandfather was William Comyn and his paternal grandmother is Margaret Countess Of Buchan; his maternal grandparents were Roger De Quincy and Helen De Galloway. He had three brothers and four sisters, named Roger, John, William, Elizabeth, Elena, Marjorie and Bridget. He was the youngest of the eight children. He died in 1305.-
