Pluma was born on September 21st, 1811 in Rochester, Stafford, New Hampshire. Pluma's father was Warren Banister and her mother was Sarah Place. Her paternal grandparents were Silas Bannister and Thankful Ely; her maternal grandfather is Paul Place and her maternal grandmother was Judith Brown. She had a brother and two sisters, named Adam Clark, Hester Ann and Sarah. She was the oldest of the four children. She died at the age of 77 on February 16th, 1889 in Rushford, Allegany Co., New York. She was buried in February 1889 in New Rushford Cemetery, Rushford, Allegany Co., New York.-
