Hurd

Hurd was born on January 9th, 1798 in Georgia.¹ Hurd's father was Hurd and his mother was Heard. His paternal grandfather was STEPHEN Heard and his paternal grandmother is MARY Faulkner. He had four brothers and four sisters, named Stephen, Francis S., Samuel S., Thomas W., No. 268, No. 270, Nancy and Purmely. He had two half-brothers and four half-sisters, named John S., GEORGE, Polly F., No. 273, No. 267 and Lucea "Luck". He died at the age of 55 on April 3rd, 1853 in Yazoo Co., Mississippi. He was buried after April 3rd, 1853 in Heard Cemetery, Lynwood, Yazoo Co., MS.¹¹

‌Hurd and Heard were married in a religious ceremony on April 24th, 1823 in Amite Co., Mississippi.¹ They had five sons and three daughters, named Stephen, Jesse Faulkner, W. J., Wyatt, Samuel, Keziah, Sophia Marilla and Sarah.
