Cornelis VAN HOUTEN

Cornelis was born on March 21st, 1682 in Bergen, Jersey City, Hudson, New Jersey and his baptism took place on April 18th, 1682 in Bergen, Hudson, New Jersey. Cornelis' father was Helmigh Roelofse VAN HOUTEN and his mother was Jannetje Peterse MERSELISE. His paternal grandparents were Roelof Cornelissen VAN HOUTEN and Gerritie Cornelis VAN NESS; his maternal grandparents were Pieter MARSELIS and Elizabeth UNKNOWN. He had six brothers and four sisters, named Roelof, Pieter Helmeghse, Dirk, Jacob, Dirck (Twin), Johannis, Catalyntie Helmigse, Gerritje, Elizabeth Helmeghse and Jannetje. He was the third oldest of the eleven children. He died at the age of 66 on October 4th, 1748.
