Nancy M. was born on March 16th, 1877 in Morgan Twp.,Gallia Co.,Ohio. Nancy M.'s father was James S. Thaxton and her mother was Mary Jane Ervin. Her paternal grandparents were Sheppard Thaxton and Martha J. McCormick. She had five brothers and four sisters, named Elmer, Oliver Perry, Franklin S., Ross, Albert O. "Bertie", Effie M., Alice, Marietta and Adeline. She was the second youngest of the ten children.
