Preston Tate 
Preston was born in 1820 in , Rockingham, Virginia. Preston's father was Joshua Tate and his mother was Susanna Hinecker. His paternal grandparents are Mathew Tate and Elizabeth UNKNOWN; his maternal grandparents were Christian P. Hinecker and Nancy UNKNOWN. He had four brothers and four sisters, named Simeon, William Riley, John Robert, George Washington, Sarah, Maria, Elizabeth and Phoebe Ann. He is the fourth oldest of the nine children.-
